Join Cate and Jamie as they share a relaxing and calming yin yoga flow followed by focused sound bath frequencies to reset your nervous system.
Cate is a long-standing member of Island Power Yoga and has led multiple Sound Bath Meditations for our studio. Jamie is a senior instructor and will be guiding the 30 minute Yin Yoga flow to prepare your body and mind for the Sound Bathing in Savasana.
The Yin practice will be gentle but deep stretches intended to release tension once coming out of the postures. Cate will play her crystal bowls for 30 minutes to close the session, to encourage you to drift into your own quiet practice.

FAQs about Sound Bath
What is a Sound Bath Healing ?
A sound bath healing is a full body meditative experience. You will lie down and listen to resonant sounds. This involves singing crystal bowls, which create an echoing sound that 'bathes' people. Some people refer to sound bathing as a healing practice.
What does Sound Bath Healing do to your body?
Sound Baths elicit the relaxation response, and in the relaxation response, the body relaxes, blood pressure lowers, heart rate lowers and the body basically goes into healing mode.
What happens to your brain during Sound Bath Healing?
Sound all around you creates a 'bath' of visceral sound where you can feel the frequency of sound in the deepest parts of your body. A sound bath creates a meditative state where the brain emits healing brainwaves.
Is it ok to fall asleep in a Sound Bath Healing ?
Falling asleep is completely welcome and normal. The sound is intentionally relaxing and the sound waves are said to activate your body's natural healing abilities which often means 'sleep'. Falling asleep is very common especially the first few times.
